26 MAY 2017, TAGUIG CITY – The Philippine Green Building Council conducted its training on Integrated Environmental Solutions – Virtual Environment (IESVE) with assessors for the BERDE Program. With the support of IES, the PHILGBC hosted the training with internal and external assessors on using the energy modeling software in assessing the design of buildings.
Mr. Sriman NCVK, Business Development Manager, IES, provided the training on the IESVE 2017, a 3D performance analysis software for designing energy efficient buildings. He shared that the technology is a comprehensive tool to support architects and engineers in ensuring the different aspects of building projects are addressed. The suite includes tools for:
· Solar shading calculation,
· Dynamic heat load calculation,
· Artificial lighting simulation,
· Daylight simulation,
· HVAC analysis,
· Infiltration analysis,
· Evacuation planning, and
· Standards compliance analysis.
The training provided by Mr. Sriman included previews on the featured applications and a detailed walkthrough on ModelIT, Suncast, Apache, and Vista. Discussions included how energy modeling tools, such as IES, may contribute to designing BERDE projects, and supporting the efficient implementation of BERDE Certification.
